chrysophrase

Chrysoprase

Chrysoprase has been used in jewelry and ornamental objects since ancient times. Legend has it this green, opalescent gemstone was a favorite of Alexander the Great. The rarest form of chalcedony (a variety of quartz), chrysophrase derives its color from its nickel content. It’s a cryptocrystalline stone, with crystals so fine they can’t be seen as distinct particles.

Offering gentle, soothing qualities, chrysoprase is believed to promote happiness and assist healing, especially when combined with silver. It is also said to bring business success and prosperity.
Gem Pick! I love this stone to design with as well as for it’s healing properties.
