From the Heart of the Artist: Where My Journey Began
Every artist has a beginning. This is mine.
Long before I became a jewelry artist and metalsmith, I dreamed of becoming a sculptor. In high school, I planned to attend art school and spend my life creating large-scale sculptures and works of art.
However, my dad had a different idea.
In full protective-parent mode, he gently encouraged me to consider jewelry making instead. Perhaps he hoped I could find a creative career that could pay the bills while still allowing me to make art.
At 16, I was equal parts rebellious and curious. So, I enrolled in my first jewelry and metalsmithing class.
That was it.
I was completely hooked.
I fell in love with the fire, the tools, the metal, and the craftsmanship. Most of all, I loved the endless possibilities. I could take a piece of metal and transform it into something completely new.
From that moment on, handcrafted jewelry became my passion.
I Never Really Stopped Being a Sculptor
Looking back, I realize I never truly stopped being a sculptor. Instead, I simply found a new way to sculpt.
Today, I create sculpture for the body.
My one-of-a-kind jewelry combines sculptural metalwork, natural gemstones, traditional metalsmithing techniques, and contemporary fashion. Each piece becomes a small, wearable work of art.
I handcraft my jewelry using techniques that allow me to shape, texture, pierce, form, and sculpt the metal. Then, I bring each design to life with carefully selected natural gemstones.
As a result, every piece has its own personality, movement, and story.
Where Art Meets Jewelry
My work exists somewhere between fashion and art.
I love creating jewelry that feels stylish and wearable while still making a strong artistic statement. At the same time, I want each gemstone and sculptural detail to add meaning and depth.
That balance has become an important part of my signature style.
My artisan jewelry is designed for people who want something more personal than mass-produced jewelry. Each one-of-a-kind gemstone jewelry piece is individually handcrafted, making it unique to the person who wears it.
And although my work has evolved over the years, that sixteen-year-old girl is still part of every design.
Her curiosity is still there.
Her excitement is still there.
And thankfully, her desire to create is stronger than ever.
The Beginning of My Creative Journey
What started with one jewelry class at age 16 became a lifelong creative journey.
I thought I was giving up my dream of becoming a sculptor. Instead, I discovered that I could create wearable sculpture through handcrafted jewelry.
Today, I am grateful that my path led me here.
Every one-of-a-kind jewelry design I create carries a little of that original excitement. It also carries years of experience, craftsmanship, experimentation, and a deep love for natural gemstones and metalwork.
Most importantly, my jewelry allows me to create art that people can actually wear, enjoy, and make part of their own story.
That is what makes wearable art jewelry so meaningful to me.
